Leslie's story

Leslie is a Peruvian artisan who creates silver jewelry that showcases Andean gemstones. She'd like to invest in silver and gems to increase production. Leslie has been selling through NOVICA since 2008. This is her story: "I have always been interested in art. It was natural choice to study design. After that I studied jewelry design, which I've practiced since 2003. Making jewelry offers me a sanctuary away from the world where I can do what I want. I love art and three-dimensional pieces, and I love to be able to touch what I create in my mind. To me, my craft is like a magical experience that allows me to express what I feel through silver and gems. "I want to thank those who are helping fund this micro-credit from the bottom of my heart. It feels so good when a person who needs help finds a source of support, and even more when they aren't asking for anything in return. That's when we realize that there are always people who are willing to give a hand to others. Many thanks, and may God bless you."
