A loan of $625 helped investing in adjusting her workshop.

Irma's story

Irma makes sculptures in her small workshop located in the garden of her home. Her husband works in a gallery and helps her to sell a lot of what she makes. She paints ceramic objects which decorate home interiors and sells them on credit to a customer base that she has created little by little since beginning her business. She still dreams of growing, but she needs to improve working conditions, because they affect her family. For this reason, she is requesting a loan from Kiva and the Fundación Mario Santo Domingo to move her workshop to a space behind the house. Through doing this, she will see a difference in her family's peace of mind.

Her aim is to have a trading post in a special place where art and the artist converge, so that there is a place in the city where you can buy all the different sculptures and art on offer, not only those that she makes but that are the work of a large number of artists who do not stop and who need support in the market.
