A loan of $1,125 helped to buy a photocopier and paper supplies.

Nadia's story

Nadia, 29, lives with her spouse and two children whose ages are nine years and three months in the southwest part of the city where she offers Internet access and transcription services in her small, home-based business. Needs of her neighbors and the desire to help support her home’s progress were key elements that led her to start her business five years ago and she’s been offering these services ever since. Her main customers are students from local schools needing to do research. She’s open 12 hours daily, every day of the week.

She got a previous Fundación Mario Santo Domingo loan that she used to buy supplies and to build her site because she needed to improve its appearance so she could sell to other sectors and increase clientele more each time. She’s currently applying for a Kiva loan, her second financing from this organization that she’ll use to buy a photocopier and paper supplies to add another service and develop many more growth possibilities with the modernization and permanent upgrading of her equipment.
