A loan of $700 helped a member to buy fertilizer for her farmland.

Kimheap's Group's story

Originally from a rural village of Kampong Cham province’s Ponhea Krek district, Kimheap is a 33-year-old mother of two children. Both of her children are dependent on her and too young for school. She has been engaged in rice farming to earn a living for five years. Her husband supplements that income by planting cassava and working for others for a fee. Together, they can earn about 17,000 KHR per day from the current business and can save about 7,000 KHR each day.

Kimheap's group consists of three members. She has been with VisionFund for one cycle, and she completely paid back the previous loan. The loan helped her to better support her family. Now she and her group members are applying for a new loan. As the leader, she will use her portion to buy fertilizer for her farmland. She hopes to get a high crop yield from her cassava.
