Angelita is 58 years old, married with 2 children. She lives in Clarin, Misamis Occidental. She owns and operates a fish vending business in the local community to earn a living. She has been with her business for over 10 years and earns 10,000PHP every month. She joined GDMPC in the year 2011. Now she has requested a loan of 12,000PHP to purchase fishing materials. She plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to improve the general living conditions of her family.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
