Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

Viola's story

Viola is 43 years old, married, and has three children.

Viola is in the agricultural business, raising pigs in the Philippines. Viola requested a PHP 10,000 loan through Negros Women for Tomorrow Foundation, Inc. (NWTF) to purchase additional piglets to raise, along with feed and vitamins for her pigs.

Viola has been raising pigs for nine years now and has borrowed 18 times in the past from NWTF to sustain her business. In the future, Viola would like to save enough money to expand her business.
