Mwenda's Group's story

Mwenda is a thirty-year-old mother of ten children. She resorts to burning charcoal and relies heavily on relief services to support her family. Mwenda also works on other people's farms to earn money, but the availability of this work is seasonal. Mwenda joined the KOMAZA microforesty program because "the project design guarantees future support for her children's education." She says the profits she will get from her tree farm will "enable her to feed her family well."

In this group: Mwenda, Josephine, Kache, Dama, Faida
