A loan of $1,550 helped to improve her selling stand.

Maria Nancy's story

Maria, 60, lives in the city of Pucallpa with her husband. She has two grown children whom she loves and are her main reason for living. She is a very friendly, hard-working, and enthusiastic person. Together with her husband, she has dedicated all of her efforts to moving her family forward. Unfortunately, due to a lack of economic resources and because she has had to work since she was very young, Maria was not able to study a professional degree, but she would have liked to do so. In her free time, she likes to play with her grandchildren. With a lot of dedication and effort, and thanks to her family's support, Maria works in her small business selling food. She also has a small printing business. She works every day for about ten hours and believes that it's going well for her because of her good seasoning and the friendly way she treats her customers. Maria is very grateful to the Kiva lenders, because thanks to them, she will be able to make improvements to her small selling stand. She will also be able to buy a printer, which will help her provide her customers with better service. Maria will continue to work and make an effort to achieve her big dream of having a great restaurant.
