Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

Saira Tomasa's story

Saira sells meals and snacks. She lives with her parents who are 60 and 61 years old. She has a two-year-old son. Her parents are self-sufficient. She has had her street vendor business for two years. She learned it working in restaurants. This gave her experience to dedicate her own resources to the business.

She needs to invest in the business. To improve the products that she offers, she is requesting a loan and will invest it in corn, beans, rice, meats, sugar, salt, plastic products, and other expenses that will help her improve her business.

Saira's goal is to progress with her family, with the help of the loans, she hopes to have a better business to work.
