A loan of $750 helped to pay her daughter's university fees.

Alma Nidia's story

El Sauce is a hot town located in the west of León Department surrounded by flower-covered mountains and mighty rivers that make the place attractive to tourists. Alma Nidia lives there. She’s a 45-year-old teacher who has more than 20 years’ experience teaching. This profession has made it possible for her to own a house and with her husband’s help has been able to educate her two daughters. She currently works as an elementary school teacher at a local school.

She’s asking for a loan to pay her daughter’s university fees; she’s recently finished her course work at the university aimed at earning her professional degree. Like a responsible mother, she wants to leave her daughters an inheritance consisting of a university career so they can fend for themselves in life.

This is why she’s asking for a loan in order to reach this goal because the low salaries common in Nicaragua prevent many dreams from coming true. She trusts that Kiva lenders through Ceprodel will finance this loan so she can reach her dream of seeing her daughters become professionals.
