A loan of $700 helped to buy a washing machine.

Victoria Del Carmen's story

Victoria del Carmen is a 52-year-old, single woman, mother of three children two of which are still in her care and attending university; she also has a school-age grandson. She’s spent most of her life teaching at a municipal elementary school in El Sauce. She’s a tenacious woman who in addition to working in this profession also makes and sells food in the city’s stadiums on the weekend in order to earn extra income to be able to cover everything needed for her children’s university education so they can become professionals. She’s currently requesting a loan to buy a washing machine to save time because her income is insufficient to pay for a domestic employee to do her housework and she has to split her time between working, cooking, washing, ironing clothes and buying a washing machine is a way of saving time. She hopes the loan will be financed through Ceprodel because this is the only alternative she has given the low salaries in Nicaragua.
