Tinah's story

"Tinah is 31 years old and lives in the town of Wobulenzi in the Luwero region of Uganda. She is married and has two children. For the past three years, Tinah has been working hard to manage her agrochemical shop, which trades in fertilizers and pesitcides .

To help expand her business, Tinah has requested a loan of 3,000,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to purchase spray pumps, and will help Tinah to generate greater profits and improve her standard of living. Tinah hopes that in the future she will be able to get profits from the business .

Tinah is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like Tinah who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown too large for microloans.
