Loida's story

This is Loida, 34, a resident of Intramuros, Manila, Philippines. She is married to Bernardo, a side car driver, and they have children. She manages their household while operating the business. She works hard to continually provide income for their everyday expenses. Loida manages her side car transportation business. She has one side car, a bicycle cart that carries up to two passengers to their destination within the community. Her regular customers are laborers and employees in the community. She also has a variety store and a direct sales business. She earns a minimum of 600 Philippine Pesos (PHP) in sales every day.
To help her continue operating her business, she is applying for a PHP 20,000 loan. She will use the loan for maintenance on her side car unit and to buy grocery items for her variety store. Loida dreams that her business will grow and hopes to have a good life and future. She meets with her co-fellowship members to share stories of her life and business every week, where she can also draw strength and inspiration from the Word of God she studies.

* All CCT community partners / clients are organized into fellowship groups that meet on a weekly basis. A fellowship group is composed of 15 to 30 community partners. The fellowship groups gather each week to study the Word of God, build social capital, and pay Micro Finance loans.
