Lun S., 28, is the mother of two children, both of whom are too young to attend school. For the last year, she has made a living working in a beer factory. Her husband, Ung Monkol, is a taxi driver whose income is falling because gas prices keep going up. Prices have driven some taxis out of business, but Ung has regular customers who provide him with a steady income.

Lun S. is applying for a loan to replace her husband's old and unreliable motorbike with a more efficient one that uses less gas and needs fewer repairs. In the future, the young couple plan to open a small stall from which they will sell groceries. (Mrs. Lun is pictured with her husband.)
