Serah's story

Serah is a widow with three children. She is the bread winner in the family. She lives in Bamenda in the northwest region of Cameroon.

She has struggled in life to earn a living for her family. It was not easy on her to raise business capital until she saw GHAPE as a source of relief and became a beneficiary. This is her third year as a GHAPE member and her previous loan repayments were satisfactory.

As a very hardworking lady, she plans to invest her loan in the cultivation of crops and poultry farming. She is highly convinced this business will succeed because she has been doing this activity for a very long time.

She plans to use the profit from the business to pay for her children’s school fees, assist with her younger brother's apprentice fee, give good medicine to her children whenever they are sick and also to ensure they are fed well.

She prefers to receive loans from GHAPE because the rate of interest is low, the method of payment is comfortable and convenient and also because of the training GHAPE offers before disbursing her loan.
