A loan of $775 helped to buy sweets and soft drinks.

Clesi's story

Clesi is 53 years old and is a good and friendly woman. She is a widow with five children whom she raised and educated to be useful members of society. She now lives in her own house beside one of her daughters who shares with her many aims and ideals. Clesi's work consists in selling sweets and every two days she heads to the market to look for sweets, lollipops, biscuits and other popular sweet things for her business. She has a small display case in her house where she shows off and sells her various goods to sweeten the the day. She has had the business for some six years, having started it because her husband died and she needed some sort of income to cover costs. As time went on, she became financially stable and now she is seeing her business progressing. She likes her work because it is very relaxing for her as she can talk to people and because she can play and have fun with the children, her favourite customers. She hopes to continue working as she would like to continue saving money so that one day she can have a bigger sweet shop. On this occasion she is applying for a loan of 2000 Nuevo Soles and she is very happy to know that she has financial support as she will feel safer as she advances with her business. Clesi promises to make her repayments on time. With the loan she will buy sweets and other products to sell to customers. In addition she will begin to sell drinks as she is sure that this will serve as an extra source of income for the family economy.
