Judith's Group's story

Judith is a 22-year-old businesswoman. She buys and sells sisal, but is faced with high transport costs when moving her product from the rural production area to the urban market, resulting in low profits. Judith is joining the KOMAZA microforestry program because she says, "Since I am a farmer, I found it beneficial to plant trees provided by KOMAZA since they will be sold." With the proceeds from her tree farm, Judith wants to build a permanent house. She says, "I see myself to have change financially so that I can say it's because of KOMAZA."
