Khom's story

Khom is 59 years old. She is married and resides with her four children in the province of Kampong Chhnang in Cambodia. She has been selling grocery goods for more than three years, earning approximately $3 a day. Her husband is a rice farmer who makes an income of $1 a day. Her children are employed and earn about $18 per day.

In order to improve her family’s finances, Khom requests a loan of $700 to purchase cosmetics so her daughter can run a beauty parlor. This loan will enable her daughter to generate additional income for the family. In the future, she would like to expand her grocery store and build a fence around her house.
