A loan of $250 helped to buy items for her retail shop, such as toothpaste and toys.

Hannah's story

Hannah lives in the Mombasa area of Coast Province, Kenya. She is married and has two school-going children. She owns a retail shop which has been running for two years. In the business, she sells household goods.

She learned about Milango through friends who invited her to the group. She joined with the aim of accessing credit to improve her business operations. Her main challenges are bad debts and physical exhaustion from walking long distances.

Hannah is applying for a loan of 21,100 Kenya shillings to buy retail stock like toothpaste, toys etc. The extra income from the loan will be added to her savings to improve her family’s living standards and to pay school fees for her children. She aspires to open a shop with a fixed location.
