A loan of $450 helped a member to buy fishing materials for her husband’s business.

Sitha's Group's story

Sitha, age 43, lives with her husband and two children in a village in the province of Banteay Meanchey in the Moungkol Borey district. To earn a living, she and her husband have been farming rice for nearly 15 years; they supplement the family’s income by fishing. The current business enables her to earn about 18,000 KHR per day to meet the family’s needs. Sitha is now leading her group to request a loan. As the leader, she is going to use her portion to buy fishing materials for her husband’s business. She hopes to catch more fish so they can sell them at a good price and better their living conditions.
