A loan of $2,050 helped a member to buy tyres.

Fidelia's Group's story

The "Los Angeles" communal bank is beginning its fifth cycle with Pro Mujer through the Collpani regional office. This group has seven members and is run by a board which has Fidelia as its chairwoman. The members have various types of businesses, including: selling stuffing, selling traditional medicines, selling toys, knitting blankets and selling food.

The loan this group is taking out will benefit the microbusinesses in the group which Fidelia is a member of. She say that she joined Pro Mujer a year following an invitation from a friend who was already a member. Fidelia currently has a transport business. She tells us that she started this following a recommendation from her father some years ago.

Fidelia will use this loan to increase capital (buying tyres), which she will purchase from shops in the city La Paz. She will then use them on her vehicle. This work allows Fidelia to earn the money to maintain her household as best as possible. She is single and has a son.

When asked what she most likes about Pro Mujer Fidelia responds that she likes that health education that is offered.

In this group: Fidelia , Sonia, Emma , Claudia Flora, Tereza , Maribel, Juana
