The P At Group is made up of 3 members who have been accessing loans from ID-Ghana since 2009. Their names are Patience, Matilda, and Juliet. They sell provisions, tomatoes, and fresh fish. ID Ghana has been of great service to them since they have been able to grow their small businesses through credit.

Patience is 37 years old and sells provisions, such as rice, sugar, soap, canned tomatoes, and sardines. She is married to Michael, who is a 39-year-old electrician. She has 7 years’ experience in her business and works 6 days a week (from Monday to Saturday). She is constantly working to improve her business capital.

This is her 6th loan with ID-Ghana. She is requesting the amount of GHS 1,200 to buy more provisions to sell to her customers in the community. The group needs a total amount of GHS 2,050 for business expansion and to meet customers’ demands.

About ID Ghana

ID Ghana is a microfinance NGO that provides financial and social services to underserved urban communities in Accra. This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
