Yoeurn's Group's story

Yoeurn, 59, is married and has eight children. To feed the entire family, she plants soybeans on two hectares of farmland and sells sugarcane juice during her spare time whereas her husband catch fish for sale. Over five years' involvement in the current business, she has been able to earn up to 24,700 KHR per day.

Yoeurn is a fourth-cycle client with VisionFund (Kiva’s partner). She has used her past loans wisely to upgrade her living and improve her livelihood in a gradual manner. For this cycle, she has formed a group of three to apply for a new loan. The total amount of her group loan is 2,900,000 KHR. Yoeurn's loan portion is 1,200,000 KHR and she plans to buy insecticide for her soybeans. She hopes this purchase will minimize her loss due to pests and return her a good yield.
