Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

Ye's Group's story

A married inhabitant from Kampong Cham province where cassava is a popular product, Ye is a peasant who grows cassava on one hectare of farmland as her primary source of income. She is able to earn up to 12,500 KHR per day from the current plot that she has had for seven years.

She has been with from VisionFund (Kiva’s partner) for four loans already. The past loans were successful and meant she was able to solve her family's problem which was to have three meals a day.

Now, she is in a group of three as the leader. The total amount being requested by her group is 2,500,000 KHR. Ye's loan portion is 1,000,000 KHR. She will use her loan to buy potash and insecticide for her cash-crop. She highly hopes that this purchase will boost her yield and minimize the loss due to the pest; thereby she can make more profit for her family.
