A loan of $775 helped to buy grocery stock, e.g., maize, beans, rice and cooking fat.

Margaret's story

Margaret lives in the Mombasa area of Coast Province, Kenya. She is married and has two school-going children. She owns a grocery shop, a business which has been running for eight years. In the business, she sells foodstuffs, household goods, etc.

She learnt about Milango through friends who invited her to the group and she joined with the aim of accessing credit to improve her business operations. Her main challenges are inflation and bad debts.

Margaret is applying for a loan of 64,500 Kenya shillings to buy grocery stock, e.g., maize, beans, rice and cooking fat. The extra income from the loan will be added to her savings to improve the living standard of her family and pay school fees for her children. She aspires to open a mini wholesale business.
