A loan of $725 helped to buy a milk cow.

Bernardo's story

Mr. Bernardo, 58, is married and has three children aged 25, 20 and 16. He lives in the municipality of Batallas, where people work in agriculture and raise livestock. He has dairy cattle and sells milk.

This is Bernardo’s first loan with the institution; he will use it to buy a milk cow. He wants to make use of this opportunity to increase his milk production and have a better income.

Bernardo faces different challenges in his business. For example, he needs to buy fodder every once in a while. Weather conditions are also a challenge for him, since he wakes up early in the morning to milk the cows, helped by his children; the whole family is involved in this activity.
