A loan of $1,000 helped to buy yarn.

Josefa's story

Josefa is 30 years old and married with five children, who are aged 15, 12, 10, 9 and 4. All of them are school-aged. She works knitting leg warmers, sweaters for children and babies, and shawls for women who wear "polleras" (traditional multilayered skirts). Her workshop is in the town of Oquetiti. This loan is her first with the institution. Josefa will use the loan to buy yarn wholesale to knit her leg warmers and sweaters. At this time she already has a lot of sales. She also delivers orders to different markets in the city of El Alto. The reason she is applying for this loan is to increase her working capital. The challenge that Josefa faces in her business is stocking her merchandise, so she will use her profits and continue to buy supplies wholesale for knitting her leg warmers and sweaters.
