A loan of $5,025 helped a member buy bales of fabrics for small second-hand clothing commerce.

Codou's Group's story

This group was founded since the first cycle of the local "banc villageois" loan group. It consists of six women from the same and surrounding neighborhoods united through social and professional relationships.

Mrs. Codou is a widow aged 50 and the mother of seven children, two girls and five boys, all attending school. She has been active in the trade of used clothing for nearly 20 years and has a good experience in this field. She is standing at the far left of the photo raising her hand and dressed in a white and blue boubou.

Her new credit loan of 500,000 FCFA will enable her to buy bales of cloth she will sell at retail prices in her neighborhood's market. The profits generated by her business will allow her to take care of her children's educational, nutritional and health-related needs.

In this group: Codou, Maguette, Farma, Fagueye, Daga, Ndioba
