A loan of $150 helped a member to buy materials to build a proper latrine.

Phally's Group's story

Phally, 43, is married with five children. She resides in a rural village located in the Kandal province of Sa Ang district, Cambodia. Three of her children are dependent on her and still in school. For the last 25 years, she has farmed rice, which is the primary source of her family’s income. Her husband works as a construction worker in their local area to earn additional income. The business currently earns her about 5,600 KHR to meet the family’s needs.
She has just started borrowing with VisionFund this cycle. Now she is leading a group of three to ask for a loan from VisionFund. As the leader, she is going to use her portion of the loan to buy materials to build a proper latrine. She hopes this loan will enable her to have a clean latrine to use in order to improve her standard of living.
