A loan of $625 helped to buy merchandise to sell, such as sandals and school supplies.

Velkis Yanex's story

Velkis, 32, is married and has 1 child. She lives with her family in a neighborhood in the town of Choloma, in the department of Cortes.

Velkis has a business selling merchandise. She started this business 8 years ago with her own money and initiative so that she could obtain the income she needs for her family. She states that the business is doing very well, and it has given her the resources to cover the household expenses.

Velkis has requested her 7th loan with ODEF for 12,000 Honduran lempiras. She plans to invest the loan in the purchase of merchandise for her business, including: school supplies, sandals, cosmetics, etc. She thinks that with this investment her sales will increase, as she will be able to take advantage of the school season and also offer a greater variety of products to her customers. Her goal is to expand her business with new merchandise.
