Mabita's story

Mabita, 45, is a hard-working woman who lives with her husband, Emilio. They have two children, but only one still lives at home, Kevin. She cares for him in the house they bought 25 years ago.

When she began her family she thought about starting a business and began generating an income based on community needs. She bought shoe polish, combs, clothes hangers and other accessories. In the early years profits were small, but as years went buy she figured out a better way to sell. She rented a small space in the town plaza where she has been working now for 20 years. Her business is flourishing and she hopes to be able to obtain enough capital to open a store where she can continue selling home accessories. Now she wants to buy school materials because classes are about to begin.

On this occasion, Mabita is requesting a loan of 2,500 PEN to buy items she needs for the business, such as combs, desk supplies, hair pins and ribbons and other products to keep her business prospering.
