A loan of $200 helped to buy fabrics wholesale and other sewing materials.

Estela's story

Estela is sixty-three years old, is a widow, and is the mother of six children, all of whom are now independent. Presently, she lives comfortably in a house that she bought with the fruit of her effort and dedication.

Estela's work consists of sewing lingerie items and children's clothing. She also makes a living in selling products through catalogs. She does this from her home. Normally, she works alone, but when she has a lot of work, she asks another person for help in order to make the work easier.

The thing she likes about her work is her available time. She also says that she loves what she does, since she has grown up doing this work. She feels that this work is very profitable; she always has clients and she is a supplier to a few stores in the city. For the moment, she hopes to be able to continue growing in her economic activity and she wishes to have her own shop in order to offer better attention to her customers.

This is her third loan with Kiva, and she is thankful for the financial support that she receives. Therefore, she promises to make her payments in a punctual manner.

In this opportunity, she is requesting 500 soles in order to buy thread, lace trim, and fabrics wholesale in order to make a better profit.
