A loan of $1,275 helped to buy merchandise like clothes, purses, and backpacks to sell.

Maria Elia's story

Maria, age 33, is married and has three children. She lives in a neighborhood outlying the city of San Pedro Sula. Maria is very hard-working. She has had her business of selling clothes, purses, and backpacks for three years.

She started this business with her own capital. This way she has an extra income to help her pay the household expenses. She sells in an itinerant manner in the surrounding neighborhoods. She also sells by order.

She has requested a loan from ODEF for 25,000 lempiras. She will use the loan to buy more merchandise (clothes, purses, backpacks) in order to stock the business. This way she will be able to offer a variety of products to her customers, and her income will improve.

Her goal is to work and to grow in her business in order to continue supporting her family.
