A loan of $775 helped to buy more beer and wine to sell.

Alex's story

Alex is 27 years old and lives in the town of Masindi in the Hoima region of Uganda. For the past three years, Alex has been working hard to manage his bar and restaurant.

To help expand his business, Alex has requested a loan of 2000000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda to buy more beer and wine to sell. This will help generate greater profits and lead to expansion of the bar. Alex hopes that in the future he will be able to start another business.

Alex is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like Alex who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown too large for micro loans.
