A loan of $700 helped to buy plastic shoes.

Mamadou's story

Mamadou was born around 1964 in Lofigué, Kadiolo circle. Married and the father of 5 children, he lives in a nuclear family in Kadiolo - Noumousso (3rd administrative region of the Republic of Mali). He has been buying and selling plastic shoes for over 6 years. His experience in this line of work has earned him a good reputation and he gets orders from everywhere. He is therefore asking for support from the microfinance institution Soro Wiriwaso in order to have the resources necessary to satisfy his customers, and is on his first loan. This loan will enable him to buy 600 pairs of plastic shoes. He gets his supplies from the Republic of the Ivory Coast, a country bordering Mali. When the shoes get to Mali, he sells them at the markets of Kadiolo and Loulouni, for cash and often credit, to a clientèle made up of men and women. Thanks to this loan, he expects to make an average monthly profit of 105 000 francs. Part of the profit will allow him to cover the interest payments on his loan, and part will be reinvested in his business.
