Sarah's story

Sarah is a single mother of one child and her only child goes to school. She also takes care of two additional family members (her parents).

She sells fruit and vegetables at the market on a retail basis and has been in this business for 12 years. She sells to all knds of people on a retail basis for seven days a week.

She has applied for a loan of UGX 400,000 from MCDTSACCO to buy boxes of pineapples, tomatoes, pawpaws, greens and onions. Her major business challenges include seasonality and high transportation costs.

She is hoping to get a track to transport fruit and vegetables from villages to the market and also to become a wholesaler. She resides in a rented house and the family has access to electricity and piped water. Her monthly expenses include school fees and rent
