A loan of $400 helped to expand and improve her business by purchasing additional inventory (e.g., groceries, toiletries, and beverages).

Rita's story

This is Rita. Her previous loan was a big help to her business. She was able to buy more products and goods for her variety store. She has been running her business for six years now, and she proudly explains that it continues to grow. She and her husband, who is a driver, work hard to provide income for their everyday needs.

She would like to secure another 16,000 PHP loan to buy groceries, toiletries, beverages and other products to add to her existing inventory. In her view, the more items displayed at the store, the better. This is because additional items will result in increased profits. Profits from the business help her cover the family’s daily needs and her children’s education expenses. She looks forward to this potential infusion of capital with happiness and gratitude in her heart.

Rita dreams of operating a grocery store in the future, and she hopes that her children will finish their studies. She meets with her co-fellowship* members weekly, where she can share stories of her life and business and also draw strength and inspiration from the Word of God she studies.

* All CCT community partners/clients are organized into fellowship groups that meet on a weekly basis. A fellowship group is composed of 15 to 30 community partners. The fellowship groups gather each week to study the Word of God, build social capital, and repay micro-finance loans.
