A loan of $2,400 helped to improve her work area and do some renovation work.

Nishtiman's story

Nishtiman is a 35-year-old Iraqi woman. She is married and a mother of two children. With limited career options due to cultural restrictions and domestic constraints, Nishtiman is one of the many Iraqi woman who is working from home, using her sewing skills to generate some income and participate in meeting the financial needs of her family.

Nishtiman has six years of experience with her small, home-based sewing and tailoring activity, making dresses for women and children as well as small fabric household items - anything her customers ask for. She would like to improve her work area, do some renovation work, and decorate it to make it a bit more pleasant, creating an atmosphere where both she and her customers have a nicer time as they engage in the creative process.

To be able to pay for the improvement work, Nishtiman took a loan from Relief International Microfinance Iraq in the amount of 2400 USD.
