A loan of $1,225 helped to buy manure, fertilizer, insecticides, and gas for his irrigation pump, and to pay labor costs.

Jorge David's story

Jorge, 41, is the father of three children, ages 8, 15, and 18. He is from the region of Palo Verde, in the outskirts of Estelí. This area is characterized by fertile lands which are suitable for growing vegetables.

He makes a living planting tomatoes, sweet peppers, and onions, which he learned to do when he was very young because his parents did the same work. Thanks to this business, he is able to maintain his family. His children are studying and he hopes that they can have a better future.

He needs this loan to buy manure, fertilizers, insecticides, and gas for his irrigation pump, and to pay labor costs to plant half a block of tomatoes. One of his plans for the future is to buy more land in order to increase his cultivation of vegetables and to buy agricultural equipment that will help him to accelerate the farm labor.
