A loan of $1,150 helped to buy produce.

Anty's story

Anty is 26 years old and lives in the town of Namutumba in the Iganga region of Uganda. For the past five years, Anty has worked hard to manage his business, in which he sells rice and posho.

To help expand his business, Anty has requested a loan of 3,000,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy more produce, and will help Anty to generate greater profits and more income. Anty hopes that in the future he will be able to buy land.

Anty is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like Anty who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown too large for microloans.
