A loan of $1,075 helped to buy a year-old calf for fattening up.

Rakhiyabu's story

Rakhiyabu is 47 years old and married. To provide the primary source of income for her family, she started her own business in animal husbandry in 1982. The initial capital for this business amounted to 3,000 som (KGS). Thanks to Rakhiyabu's persistent work, she was able to grow her business to have two dairy cows and twenty sheep, and yield about 8,000 som from sales of milk and dairy products and reselling livestock. In order to further develop her business, Rakhiyabu requested a loan in the amount of 50,000 som (KGS) from the "Bai-Tushum and Partners" company to buy a year-old calf for fattening up because this year's prices are low, but expected to rise. She plans to invest the earnings into further increasing and improving livestock headcount.
