A loan of $300 helped to pay for medical exams for her mother, who is ill and does not have the money to cover her own medical expenses.

Lucia Guadalupe's story

Lucia is 39 years old, is married and has two children in school. She has worked as a cleaning supervisor in a hospital for the past 10 years. Prior to this she had worked as a farmer with her husband, but thanks to a friend she got the opportunity to work in a hospital. She gets up at 5:00 a.m. to prepare breakfast for her children. Afterwards she sends them to school and completes household chores. At 2:00 p.m. she prepares to go to her job at the hospital, where she works the overnight shift.

She is seeking a loan from Fundación Campo to pay for medical exams for her mother, who is ill and does not have the money to cover her own medical expenses. Lucia reports that her mother is very important to her.

Another goal of hers is for her children to graduate from college, so that they will have better career opportunities. Also, she wants to build her own home since she currently is living in her mother's house.
