Francis's story

Francis is 49 years old and lives in the town of Mityana in the Mubende region of Uganda. He is married and has six children, three currently in school. For the past 10 years, Francis has been working hard to manage his medical center, which carries out blood tests .

To help expand his business, Francis has requested a loan of 3000000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy supplies such as a lab machine for the center and will help Francis generate greater profits and care for his family. Francis hopes that in the future he will be able to expand the center .

Francis is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like Francis who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown too large for microloans.
