A loan of $525 helped a member to buy piglets for raising.

Varn's Group's story

Varn is aged 55 years old and widowed. She lives with two sons in a rural area located in the Ek Phnom district, Cambodia. She has been raising pigs for almost 30 years. The current business earns her family about 33,000 KHR (Cambodian riels) per day to feed the family, but she manages to save about 10,000 KHR each day.

This is the second loan for Varn with Kiva’s partner VisionFund. Now she is leading her group to ask for a loan. As the leader, she is going to use her portion to buy piglets for raising. She hopes to raise her pigs to be healthy so as to sell them for a good price to make a better living.
