A loan of $675 helped a member to buy fertilizer and seeds for her farmland.

Horn's Group's story

Horn, a citizen from a rural village located in the Battambang province’s Thmor Koul district, is age 49 years and married with six children, thee of whom are dependent on her and still in school. For the last 15 years, she has been farming rice and selling vegetables and fish. Her husband supplements their income by working as a motor taxi driver. With the current business, she can earn about 60,000 riels (KHR) per day and can save about 20,000 KHR each day for future needs. Horn has been a member of VisionFund for four cycles already and she completely paid back her loans, which have enabled her to better support her family. Now she is leading her group to apply for a loan. As the leader, she is going to use her portion to buy fertilizer and seeds for her farmland and also use a portion of it to buy more vegetables and fish to sell. She hopes to earn more income from her current business so as to improve her standard of living and keep her children in school.
