A loan of $1,450 helped to buy a motorcycle.

Josue Smith's story

Josue Smith, 27, was unable to finish high school due to economic factors. When he was 18 he met his common-law wife and they had three children. He used to work as a mason's assistant or helping his sister sell clothing at the market, but was not earning enough to give his children and wife certain comforts. This is why she decided to leave him and their three children, and he has not heard from her since.

Despite everything that happened he did not let depression get the better of him, but rather became stronger in order to get ahead together with his children. With his sister's support he bought a motorcycle (which he is still paying for), and uses it as his work instrument. He has been offering motortaxi services for four years in the town of Chimore. Now he is requesting a loan to pay off the vehicle and buy a new, better motorcycle so he can earn more money and improve his children's lifestyle.
