A loan of $1,450 helped to purchase supplies to increase his plantain production.

Guery's story

Guery, 50, lives in the indigenous community of Nueva Galilea, Carrasco province, in Chimore municipality. Guery previously lived in the department of Santa Cruz until about 20 years ago when he came to Chimore, leaving behind all his possessions. This is where he met his wife Nancy with whom he now has five children. Guery is a farmer, and he is also a the community wood carver in Nueva Galilea. He earns his living from these two jobs.

The loan Guery is requesting will be used to expand his plantain production, to give him a sufficient income so that he can help his children to finish school. Guery dreams of a better future for his children. He was not able to finish college or build a career himself, but he wants his children to embark on a career and help people in their neighborhood.
