A loan of $1,500 helped to buy supplies to make plaster.

Dora's story

Dora is a humble and hardworking widow. When her spouse died last year she had two children in her care. She's working now with the help of her sister and brother-in-law who work in the same field, production and sales of plaster and lime. Dora has a basic education, but more than 10 years of experience in her field running her business with the help of her sister and brother-in-law. She knows very well the market in which she sells and supervises with a lot of authority the temporary laborers who work with her. Her providers, the owners of the surrounding quarries, provide limestone, firewood, and other supplies to the whole sector of plaster and lime merchants in the region, which is quite satisfactory for her production. Her market is very consolidated because she sells in her location to all her known customers, and she also receives requests for work. She doesn't have a lot of competition because the majority of people in her area are relatives in the same line of work. Her prices stay stable throughout the year.
