Verónica Monserrath's story

Verónica, a young woman, has been a member of the communal bank ”La Paz” [Peace] for two years and she has made good friends. She lives near the city of Cuenca, popular with tourists for its historical center, declared a World Heritage Site in December 1999. The city has four rivers and its culture, traditions and cuisine captivate both locals and foreigners.

Verónica is 21 years old, single and lives with her mother in a rented house. She works at a phone and internet establishment that her mother owns. She has also sold clothes from American brands for two years. Verónica also studies Economics in a university in the city; she is in her second year.

Verónica will invest this new loan in buying pants, blouses, t-shirts and clothes for children in order to stock her business. Her goals are to finish her studies and expand her business.
