A loan of $400 helped to buy dyed fabrics for resale.

Fatou's story

Fatou is a married woman and she lives in Senegal. For more than five years now, she has been actively involved in retail business, selling dyed damask fabrics also known as "Thioub". She is a client of one of the branches of the UIMCEC, and she has already repaid a previous loan.

She is now requesting a new loan of 200,000 CFA francs to strengthen her activity. Her goal is to buy more goods, so that she can offer more products to her customers. With increased profits, Fatou will be able to increase her working capital and therefore diversify her commercial activity (she would like to start selling embroidered fabrics as well as dyed fabrics).

Fatou would like to increase her income so that she can save more money and contribute to the improvement of her family's well-being. In the future she would like to open a shop and display her products, in order to better serve her customers.
